What is ACH Transfer?
ACH Transfer is a convenient way to send money from USA. It uses the Automated Clearing
House (ACH) network in USA to debit to your account, and transfer the funds to Axis
Bank's specially designated account in US. The funds are then converted and credited
to the beneficiary in India.
How do I use ACH Transfer?
Login to your AxisRemit account and follow the below mentioned steps -
- Click on 'Add New Bank account' .
- It will direct you to page where you will need to fill in the details of your local US bank account. The details required to be submitted are ?
- Account holder's name
- Bank name
- Bank's ABA routing number
- Account type
- Submit these details by clicking on 'Confirm'
- Initiate a money transfer by mentioning the amount and purpose of transfer.
What is ACH account validation?
There is a one-time account validation that is done on the local bank account that you register on AxisRemit. We will initiate 2 sub-dollar (less than a dollar) transactions to the local bank account. A deposit and a withdrawal will be made to your account. The value of the credit is equal to value of withdrawal hence the balance in your account remains unaffected. You need to check your account and confirm the deposit values on AxisRemit. Once the confirmation is successful, your transaction will be processed. Please note that you can initiate a transfer only after the ACH account validation is successful
How much time does account validation take?
It can take upto 3 business days for sub-dollar transactions to show in account.
Why is ACH account validation done?
A one-time validation is carried out for the account that you register for ACH Transfer. This is done to prevent any misuse of your account.
Do I need to have a specific type of account to use ACH Transfer?
You can use your consumer checking or savings account in US. Your bank should be affiliated with ACH network.
Can I register more than one bank account for ACH Transfer?
Yes, you can register more than one bank account this service
What are the charges for using ACH Transfer?
There are no charges for using ACH transfer service.
Service tax as per Service Tax (amendment) Rules, 2011 will be levied effective 1st April, 2011. This amount is deducted from the Rupee amount credited to the beneficiary's account.
What is the time taken for completing the ACH transfer transaction?
The time taken for processing an ACH Transfer is five working days.
Please note that Saturday and Sunday are non-working days. In addition, banking holidays in remitting country (USA) and India are excluded from the calculation of working days.
Can I make future dated payments using ACH Transfer facility?
Yes, you can schedule a future dated transaction (upto a year) from your verified ACH account using ACH Transfer facility. You can also set up Standing Instructions (SIs) for recurring payments like EMI payments, bill payments or for special occasions like Mom's birthday!
Can I use AxisRemit Online facility to make business payments ?
No, AxisRemit Online can be used for transfers of personal nature. You cannot transfer funds from or to non-individual/business accounts.
What are the limits for ACH transfer?
The minimum limit per transaction is USD 100 and maximum limit is USD 7,500

What is ACH Plus?
The Automated Clearing House (ACH) network is used in USA to debit to your account, and transfer the funds to Axis Bank's specially designated account in US. The funds are then converted and credited to the beneficiary in India within 24 hours.
What is the eligibility for using ACH Plus?
The eligibility for using ACH Plus is that the beneficiary should be Axis Bank NRI customer (only Priority and above customers) and the remitter should have minimum 3 successful transactions on AxisRemit Online to avail ACH Plus facility. Please note it would be on Axis Bank’s discretion to revise the eligibility if required.
Are there any charges for using ACH Plus?
